I have fallen in love with minimalism for about a year. It all began with decorating our Los Angeles home – exploring modern decor with a partner who is grey-partial invariably nudges you to push the boundaries of neutrals – thus I’ve come to understand that “fifty shades of grey” concept – in design! So without me even noticing, my closet started to gain many pieces of neutrals, and it continues to do so. When we were in Monterey eating a picnic lunch at Nepenthe gazing out to the coast of Big Sur, I wore these romantic pieces of neutral pastels that were infused with Spring.

Oh glorious summer… has arrived in full blossom. Pool season is upon us and oh did you hear? We’re spending the summer in a climate actually friendly to pool-goers in the heat of the season. Yes… I’m a part-time Los Angelino again. In fact, I’ve been too thrilled about this fact to remember to blog, so you must forgive me :). We’ve been working really hard to design our LA place to be home. Between decorating, biking to the beach and walking to Farmer’s Market, I’ve been living the Californian dream and like my dear friend Kym Pham so eloquently put it, “been so infatuated with this little life of mine.”
During the month of May, I was traveling like mad, home for only a total of four days. Most of the work for that month required clothes that were versatile and could accommodate movement. I have recently become a fan of sporty pants that go from gym to meeting and these Athleta pants serve exactly that function. I love them so much I bought them in every color. You can do anything from moving furniture to showing up at date night in them. I paired them with fancy heels, geek-chic accessories and bright colors to go to a South Florida lunch at the Breakers.
