Hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was lovely, we were in Los Angeles for fun (tremendously fun, in fact, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it) and then Palm Springs for work. The warmth of the gorgeous desert reminds me that Spring is just around the corner, for everybody. This outfit is one that I wore a few weekends back, when the weather was still brisk and my skin felt comfort wrapped in suede knee boots and a sweater coat. And this is hopefully my official farewell to this never-ending winter. I’m checking out Mrs. Frost!

From spring to autumn, summer to winter, the nature of my work takes me from season to season (see a summer outfit here, winter there). Most of the time this is a blessing. Even when it sends me straight into a snowstorm, two years in a row. You remember when I was just in New Haven last year when the Nemo storm paid us a visit and gave us four feet of snow, giving me the experience of a lifetime, wonderful shelter by some incredible friends, and some gorgeous photos (you can see those here). Over Valentine’s Day, we flew into Indianapolis right into the middle of snow for a show. I took the opportunity to wear my beloved white coat, embracing a winter outfit that lets me pretend to be snow bunny for a day.
This Monday morning seems to get increasingly hectic for me. My office to-do’s are piling up by the minute. My favorite Monday cure has to be looking back upon my past travels and day-dreaming about the gorgeous places I’ve had a chance to visit. Hopefully your Monday is a bit more calm than mine, but in case you’re needing an escape, here are some lovely images from our visit to Peru’s Sacred Valley, Pisac Market, and the Garden of Eden on Earth otherwise known as Aranwa Resort (more on that later).
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! For me, Valentine’s Day is more than a celebration of love, it is also a time that signifies a season change. I have been lucky enough to live in mostly warm climates. So while most of the country is still trying to beat winter, in Vegas, where I currently am, Valentine’s Day is around the time when we get the first day of highs in the 70′s. The sun stays out past five o’clock and Spring seems, oh… so close! On the day that lovers kiss, I always have noticed a distinct change of pace in my life, the winter hibernation is over, and it’s time to blossom! So, I invite you to blossom with me in this sweet, pastel, cupcake-like outfit!
And guess who took these beautiful photos for me, my all-capable fantastic BFF Ivy, who not only wields power as a securities attorney by day, bakes delicious cupcakes by night, but also takes gorgeous photos by besties weekends :).
It’s always a fun experience for me to get to photograph my friends, especially when I get document an important journey they’re having. When my friend Elle (my first friend in America) asked me to take some portraits for her and her gorgeous family while she’s pregnant with her second baby, I was overjoyed. I feel very privileged that they trust me to portray their love and affection through my eyes and lens. It was a beautiful brisk afternoon in the woods, and they were so fun and so incredibly photogenic, my job was a breeze.
