The first time that I met New Orleans, I fell unexpectedly in love with this charming and soulful town. It is a town unlike any other I’ve met. It’s colorful, complicated, and filled with interesting characters.
Most NOLA visitors often limit their stays to around the French Quarter, and as lovely as the French Quarter is, one would lose out on a lot if you don’t make a trip to the uptown neighborhood, filled with sumptuous tree-lined streets and picturesque Southern mansions. It is as if you’ve stepped onto the set of Gone With the Wind, the thick sugary air is intoxicating.
I wanted to wear a voluminous skirt that harkens back to Gone With The Wind times, but with a touch modernity and a bit of unexpected character as NOLA is full of it. I love the vivid color of this royal blue skirt paired against the elegant gold satin pumps. The lace crop top adds a modern interpretation and my new beloved body chain is just the right quirk.
How about you? Is there a town that unexpected stole your heart when you weren’t looking?
