While traveling, I don’t often embrace the typical tourist poses, so that means no praying at the Notre Dame cathedral, no beer drinking outside of London pubs, and no force perspective picking up of the Eiffel Tower. However, I’ve always loved the iconic London red phone booth. As the world increases in its global speed and technology makes possible communication that was completely impossible just a couple of years ago; things and people can begin to feel more adrift. I gain more appreciation for these giant colorful reminders of a beloved era, cheerful against the dreary London gloom and emotionally programmed for warm-hearted nostalgia. So if you’ll pardon me… here is my full-on embrace of tourist love to London phone booth.
