From spring to autumn, and winter to summer: with the luxury of travels, you can literally choose the seasons where you’d like to be… This is one of the reasons why I’m so thankful for the destinations where my job takes me. This year end, I’ve spent very little time in the wintry climate. We worked for a week in south Florida and I soaked up as much of the endless daylight and languid humidity as possible.
Ideally, while you think of vacation, you always (falsely) predict that you’ll have plenty of time to change from the sand to the bar; but this is never the case for me. I always linger at the beach for an excessive amount of time, blame it on the ridiculously beautiful sunsets that oceans seem to conjure all the time, as well as the free wi-fi that some hotels -like the Ritz Carlton- seem to gift their guests all the way to the water (there’s very few things that makes time pass by more quickly than scrolling your favorite books on your iPad while having your hair gently caressed by the wind). So when it comes to resort clothes, my absolute favorite thing to wear is the caftan. Not only is it light on packing, fairly wrinkle-resistant, but also timelessly chic for the beach and the city. I probably own about half a dozen caftans, long and short. How about you? Do you have a favorite vacation piece?
