Braving the heat, the Mr. and I strolled along the French market, with its colorful vendors and diverse food offerings.

Crawfish has my votes forever, gators, on the other hand…

We met an art & crafts collective that specialized in Steampunk creations.   Not only do they make them but they also wear them, the beautiful and powerful pieces, with pride.

I couldn’t leave without getting a little treasure.

Street performers are ever present here, and they really commit, to the nines.

In the long, hot afternoon, enjoy some Southern indulgences in the courtyard of the famous Cafe Amelie.

The sidewalks of NOLA always surprise you with much character, from the decorative buildings to the quaint store signage.

With its famous cemeteries visited by greats like Bob Dylan, New Orleans also has a very intriguing history of embracing Voodoo.

We met the Voodoo queen herself, in her temple along with her spells and potions.
